Companies with a documented history going back more than 500 years are very rare throughout the world. Gebrüder Weiss, Austria's oldest forwarding company and to this day family-owned, is such a company. The recently published WeissBuch³ illustrates on 280 pages the company's long history – from the early beginnings as a transalpine courier service going back to 1474 to a global logistics group today. And that's not all: The comprehensive book spans from the roots of transportation and the close symbiosis between production, trade and transport via the establishment and development of the company to the personal views of Gebrüder Weiss. This book describes the history of a traditional and still highly successful family-owned company in an interesting and entertaining manner.
The new WeissBuch³ was presented on Friday 25 June in a festive ceremony in Fußach (Vorarlberg), the place where the success story of the company began. "I believe that the love of mobility must have played a role", explained Heidi Senger-Weiss in answer to the question about the basis of the family’s more than 500 years lasting entrepreneurial transport activity. For DI Paul Senger-Weiss, mutual trust is a main pillar of the continuous success over several centuries. "Trust precedes business", said Paul Senger-Weiss about the quintessence of 36 years of experience of networking.
The recently released WeissBuch³ was published by Dkfm. Heidi Senger-Weiss and DI Paul Senger-Weiss and is available from Christian Brandstätter Verlag (http://www.cbv.at/).
