GW Romania: Successful implementation of the new cross-docking terminal in Sibiu
In accordance with the project’s schedule, Gebrüder Weiss implemented its new cross-docking terminal in Sibiu on Friday, 5 November. The Romanian GW network will benefit from the centrally situated terminal.
The new terminal, including the parking spaces and annexes, has a total surface of 9,000 m² as well as 20,000 m² of reserve space. 1,000 m² are dedicated to cross-docking operations. ”By building a new terminal, we are able to meet Gebrüder Weiss’ expanding demands in Romania and to improve our domestic network. Due to its central location, the Sibiu branch is perfectly suitable,” says Thomas Moser, Regional Manager South-East Europe.
Looking to differentiate itself from the market through premium quality services, Gebrüder Weiss offers its clients in Sibiu a location featuring state-of the-art logistics equipment and high-performance fire prevention and security systems. It now equals the standard of the logistics terminal in Bucharest.
The completion of the Sibiu project is a strategic step in the development process of the Gebrüder Weiss network in Romania, which is expected to be followed by further investments in the coming years.
Present at the opening reception were Mr. Thomas Moser, Regional Manager South-East Europe, Mr. Viorel Leca, Country Manager Gebrüder Weiss Romania, Mr. Horst Ahe, Business Unit Manager of the contracting company Unger Steel and Mr. Mihai Krammer, General Manager Unger Steel Romania and the project developer of the terminal.
