The prize was presented to the company yesterday evening during a festive award ceremony in the Vienna Museumsquartier. GW CEO Wolfgang Niessner accepted the prize from State Secretary Christa Kranzl: ”I would like to thank our customers – in particular the REWE GROUP Austria, our partners – especially RailCargo Austria, and all of the GW employees that made this project a success.”
Expanding OCC routes
On September 22nd, 2008 the participating parties reached another milestone in the Austrian transport market: They expanded the successful cooperation to include the Vienna-Salzburg route. This will save an additional 5,000 truck routes per year. Other measures that further demonstrate GW’s commitment to the environment are the company’s certification according to ISO 14001 as well as substantial investments into the latest vehicle technology and energy-efficient systems.
